Hi, my name is Emerald. Let’s get to know each other.
I’m a career coach with a 9-5 as a program manager and a background in the outfitting and guiding industry.
Born and raised in Idaho, I fell in love with the Salmon River at age four and have been trying to get the sand out of my hair ever since. After a decade of whitewater and fly fish guiding, I hung up my fly rod and waded into a career as an outdoor writer and nonprofit professional then program manager—all while retaining my community of adventurers and outdoorsy identity.
Check out my LinkedIn for my full work history, I won’t bore you with it here!
The important part: I believe in building a professional life that feel great on the inside, not just one that looks “cool” on the outside.
I now help others chart their own path through (and sometimes out of!) outdoor professional backgrounds, focusing relentlessly on values alignment and meaningful work.
